Maine’s outdoor recreation economy reflects the importance of the outdoors to Mainer’s and visitors alike. It contributes $3.3 billion each year to Maine’s economy, accounts for almost 5% of all jobs in the state, and puts Maine on the map nationally.

Maine Outdoor Brands Executive Director Jenny Kordick says outdoor recreation is more than a pastime, it’s a key part of Maine’s economy — and recent data supports that idea.
